Biography

Rushit Shah 8th September 1986

Born in Vadodara, Gujarat, and now based between India, Singapore, and Germany, Rushit Shah is an abstract artist whose work is an evolving dialogue between emotion, memory, and discovery.

His artistic path has been shaped by profound life experiences, including extensive travel across 80 countries and the loss of his father. These moments deepened his exploration of themes like resilience, transformation, and duality. He draws philosophical inspiration from Carl Jung’s ideas on the unconscious and J. Krishnamurti’s perspectives on perception and freedom, influencing his approach to abstraction as a means of inner discovery. Recurring motifs such as circles and rectangles symbolize the search for balance amidst life’s ever-changing contrasts.

Although colorblind, Rushit’s relationship with color is intuitive, focusing on its emotional weight rather than its literal hues. His work is influenced by artists like Jackson Pollock, Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, and Van Gogh, embracing the raw energy of action painting, the structured spontaneity of form, and the deep emotional resonance of color.

His art is not just an expression—it’s an experience—a journey into the unseen, the unspoken, and the deeply felt.

Currently exhibiting through Maio Studio in Singapore.
